DELIVERING FOOD PACKS WITH DIGNITY AND CARE

 Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI), with support from Zakat Foundation of America - Pakistan, distributed the first batch of Ramadan Food Packs to vulnerable families. Our volunteers prepared and delivered packages with care, prioritizing underserved communities and ensuring transparency from procurement to distribution so families can observe Ramadan with dignity, compassion, and peace of mind.

Our volunteers are mobilized and ready, prioritizing underserved communities and upholding transparency at every step, from procurement to delivery, so no family is left behind. ZFA and SCI Sign MoU to Expand Support for Vulnerable Communities Across Pakistan

 On January 30, 2026, Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Zakat Foundation of America in Islamabad to expand support for women, children, and marginalized communities across Pakistan. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing relief, education, health, and essential social services through transparent, accountable, and community-centered action. 

Ministry of Human Rights Acknowledges SCI’s and ZFA's SUPPORT TO SURVIVOR FAMLIES

 The Ministry of Human Rights Pakistan acknowledged Social Cooperation Initiative’s contribution in supporting vulnerable families and children through the Winter Relief Package, implemented in collaboration with Zakat Foundation of America at the Family Protection and Rehabilitation Center, H-8, Islamabad. This recognition reflects the strong role of civil society organizations in assisting vulnerable survivors and strengthening community-based protection and care systems. 

Exploring Collaboration for Sustainable Impact

The CEO of Social Cooperation Initiative along with team met with Salihah Tuna, Country Coordinator of TİKA Pakistan, to discuss collaboration opportunities for marginalized communities. With 800+ projects across Pakistan, TİKA reflects Türkiye’s strong partnership with Pakistan. Both organizations look forward to advancing sustainable development together.

Accelerating Girls’ Education in Tharparkar

 In Tharparkar, Social Cooperation Initiative established four Community-Based Accelerated Learning Centers, enrolling 100 out-of-school girls in safe, community-supported spaces. These centers accelerate literacy and numeracy while engaging families and local leaders to challenge early marriage norms and strengthen support for girls’ education. 

WINTER RELIEF PROGRAM FOR TRANSGENDER

Social Cooperation Initiative, in partnership with the Ministry of Human Rights Pakistan and with the generous support of Zakat Foundation of America, distributed Winter Relief Packages among transgender individuals and vulnerable transgender-led households. The winter relief package included warm clothing, quilts, blankets, and essential supplies to help protect beneficiaries from the harsh winter conditions.

 Social Cooperation Initiative - SCI , with the generous support of  Zakat Foundation of America, distributed Winter Relief Packages among widow-led families. A significant number of widows and their families benefited from this initiative. The winter relief package included warm clothing, quilts, blankets, and essential items for children to help them cope with the harsh winter season. 

WINTER RELIEF PROGRAM 2026

 Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI), in collaboration with Zakat Foundation of America Pakistan, distributed winter relief packages to homeless and vulnerable individuals in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, ensuring warmth, dignity, and care during the harsh winter months. This joint effort reflects our shared commitment to humanitarian response, compassion, and community-centered action for those most in need.

STRENGTHENING U.S.–PAKISTAN EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS

 Sajjad Hussain Malik, CEO of SCI, attended the inauguration of the newly established United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) building in Islamabad, marking 75 years of U.S.–Pakistan academic exchange and educational cooperation. The event brought together senior U.S. Embassy and USEFP leadership to reaffirm shared commitments to expanding scholarship opportunities, strengthening student mobility, and advancing people-to-people and academic linkages between the two countries. 

UNFPA WORKIGN GROUP MEETING

 Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI) attended the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Pakistan Quarterly SRH Working Group Meeting in Islamabad, alongside sector partners and the Ministry of National Health. 

SCI JOINS UN-LED DIALOGUE ON ENDING DIGITAL VIOLENCE

 Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI) contributed in an inter-agency workshop organized by UNFPA, UNHCR, and IOM during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Focused on the theme “End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” the workshop strengthened coordination and reaffirmed collective commitment to GBV prevention and response. 

SCI ENGAGES TÜRKIYE’S AMBASSADOR ON EDUCATION AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

 It is an honor for Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI) to engage with H.E. Ambassador Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, during the Prime Minister’s Youth Program event last week. The discussion highlighted shared priorities on girls’ education and youth empowerment and reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan–Türkiye collaboration for inclusive education and sustainable community development. 

Strengthening Data and Policy Dialogue at DataFest 2025

 Sajjad Hussain Malik, CEO  Social Cooperation Initiative, had the privilege of meeting Dr. Naeem-Uz-Zafar, Chief Statistician at the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), at DataFest 2025 held at the Pak-China Friendship Center. It was an honor for him to reconnect with Dr. Naeem-Uz-Zafar after several years, having previously worked under his leadership during his tenure at the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives.

MEETING WITH CONVENER OF THE PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS ON CHILD RIGHTS (PCCR)

 Sajjad Hussain Malik, CEO of Social Cooperation Initiative, had the privilege to meet Dr. Nikhat Shakeel, Convener of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR).The meeting brought together key officials from the National Assembly and PCCR to advance collaboration on child protection, safeguarding, and juvenile justice. 

SCI ENGAGEMENT ON DISASTER RISK AND CLIMATE ACTION WITH NDMA

SCI is pleased to share that CEO Sajjad Hussain Malik had the privilege of meeting Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Chairman NDMA, and Ms. Rubina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, during a visit to the National Disaster Management Authority last week. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss key areas of collaboration in promoting inclusive disaster response mechanisms. 

SCI Documentary 2025

 This video highlights SCI’s efforts throughout 2025 to increase girls’ school enrollment, strengthen the quality of education, empower adolescent girls with functional, market-based skills, and support community livelihoods through enterprise development. It also showcases SCI’s campaigns to end early child marriage and promote universal birth registration. 

SCI HOSTED partners

 Social Cooperation Initiative (SCI) hosted its partners during a field visit to project areas, providing an opportunity to observe activities on the ground, engage with communities, and reflect on progress and learning. The visit and key highlights were covered by Pakistan Television (PTV), showcasing collaborative efforts toward inclusive and sustainable development.
